Junior Harvest

Father David

As the new academic year is underway, families were invited to join the children and Father David to bless the children and their school book bags on Thursday 12th September. This is a chance to bring God’s blessing on all the hopes and dreams every student and their families have for the year ahead.

Pentecost

This year Pentecost was celebrated by the church on Sunday 19th May 2024.

As a whole school, we celebrated this on Thursday 23rd May when the whole school attended mass.  As Pentecost is a celebration of our church’s family, we celebrated the many cultures at St Francis de Sales by dressing in national/cultural dress and eating a range of international food.

The Crowning of Mary

May, a sacred time, is the Month of Mary, a period of deep devotion and reverence towards our blessed Mother. The Crowning of Mary, a cherished and traditional Catholic ceremony, is a testament to our unwavering devotion to her. This lovely devotional ceremony took place at school on Tuesday 7th May. The service was led by Fr David, who was supported by our Faith Ambassadors.

The Way of the Cross

The Way of the Cross is a traditional devotion in honour of the life, death and resurrection of Jesus. In a sense, the Way of the Cross is a mini-pilgrimage through the events that covered the final hours of Jesus’ life on earth. St Francis de Sales produced art work for each station, and we had our own journey through each station on Wednesday 28th March 2024.

Book of Remembrance

November is the month we remember the Holy Souls. We had a book of remembrance in the hall, where members of our school community could write the names of those who have gone before us. We offer our prayers during November for them.
